DRESS CODE
You are representing a luxury brand. You should always dress to impress.
- Weddings are formal events, please dress accordingly.
- Darker clothing is preferred, as you should blend in with the background at night (lighter clothing stands out like a soar thumb in photos). DO NOT WEAR WHITE.
- Men should have dress pants and a dress shirt. Suite jackets & ties are not always required, but it's better to have them and not need them, than to need them and not have them.
- Ladies should have formal attire. Dress as is if you were a guest.
- If you show up in casual attire, such as jeans, you will be sent home.
EXPECTATIONS for ASSISTANT PHOTOGRAPHERS
GETTING READY
Your first major responsibility is photos of the guys getting ready. They're typically hanging out in the venue or at a hotel nearby. When you arrive, start by introducing yourself and ask the groom for any details he'd like photographed such as gifts, jewelry, watches, cuff links, etc.
Once you've finished the details, grab some candids of them hanging out and then let them know when it's time for them to get dressed. Get some photos of the groom, after he gets his pants and shirt on, while he's putting on the cuff links and the jacket (typically in window light). Grab a few portraits of the groom and some details of the outfit once he's fully dressed.
Find a spot with clean light and ask the groom if he has any friends/family photos that he, or his parents, would like.
FIRST LOOK
If there is one, I'll typically want you to shoot the grooms reaction up close, while I photograph a profile view.
THE CEREMONY
The couple has my undivided attention for the majority of the ceremony.
You should be focused on the parents/grandparents reactions, the wedding party, and the guests. You should be delivering mostly candid moments from this section of the day.
COCKTAIL HOUR
I'm typically doing family & wedding party photos and then couples portraits. You'll be working on...
- Detail photos that showcase the food displays before everyone starts picking through them.
- Detail photos of the signage, the welcome table, etc.
- Group Photos of the guests (you will have to ask the groups of people you see if you can take their photo).
THE RECEPTION
During the introductions, I'd like you to photograph a wide angle perspective of the wedding party and couple entering the room. This happens fast and it's good to have a back up for this.
During the formal dances and speeches, I'd like you to focus on the parent and family reactions as well as the wedding party (specifically the maid of honor and best man).
Once the dancing floor opens, we keep one photographer on the floor and one photographer roaming the outskirts and other areas.
How long is your typical wedding day?
We typically shoot for 8-10 hours on wedding day.
Do I have to edit?
No. The pay rate is for shooting time on wedding day.
Do you provide memory cards?
Yes. We will provide you with 2 memory cards for each camera. Record Separately with RAW on one card and JPG on the other.
Can I use the photos?
No. We do NOT allow the use of our clients photos for marketing other businesses or brands.
When do I receive payment?
Payments will be delivered within 7 Days of the Event.
Am I compensated for travel?
